- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce, store-bought or homemade
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix well.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter. Swirl with a knife or toothpick.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a fudgier brownie, slightly underbake them.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- You can add chocolate chips or nuts to the batter for extra flavor.
