Description

Delicious homemade caramel brownies with a rich, chewy texture and decadent caramel swirl.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, store-bought or homemade

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix well.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  7. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter. Swirl with a knife or toothpick.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  9. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • For a fudgier brownie, slightly underbake them.
  • Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • You can add chocolate chips or nuts to the batter for extra flavor.
