Description

Make festive Chocolate Peanut Butter Christmas Trees for a holiday treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • Dash of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening or coconut oil
  • Sprinkles or extra chocolate for decoration

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper.
  2. Melt butter and brown sugar together.
  3. Add peanut butter and salt, mix well.
  4. Gradually add powdered sugar, stirring until combined.
  5. Press or roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness.
  6. Cut out trees with cookie cutter.
  7. Refrigerate trees for 30 minutes to set.
  8. Melt chocolate chips and shortening in microwave in 30-second intervals until melted.
  9. Dip each peanut butter tree in melted chocolate, letting excess drip off.
  10. Place on waxed paper.
  11. Decorate with sprinkles.
  12. Refrigerate to allow chocolate to set for 30 minutes.
  13. Store in refrigerator in airtight container.

Notes

  • Adjust powdered sugar for desired consistency.
  • Use a fork for easy dipping.
  • Chill the trees completely before serving.
