Description

This Christmas Cracker Toffee is a sweet and crunchy treat perfect for the holidays.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crackers, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter, sugar, water, and salt over medium heat.
  4. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the toffee mixture over the crackers on the baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts (if using).
  8. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the chocolate is melted.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
  10. Break into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use any type of crackers you like.
  • For a richer flavor, use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar.
