- 1 box (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
- 6 cups peeled and sliced apples
- 1 cup cranberries
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons butter, cubed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Coarse sugar, for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a 9-inch pie plate with one pie crust.
- In a large bowl, combine apples, cranberries, sugar, flour, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- Pour filling into the pie crust.
- Cover with the second pie crust. Crimp edges to seal.
- Cut slits in the top crust to vent steam.
- Brush with egg wash (egg and milk mixture).
- Sprinkle with coarse sugar.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
- Let cool completely before serving.

- Adjust sugar to your preference based on the tartness of the apples and cranberries.
- For a deeper flavor, consider adding a tablespoon of lemon juice to the filling.
