Ingredients

  • 1 box (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1 cup cranberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter, cubed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Coarse sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a 9-inch pie plate with one pie crust.
  3. In a large bowl, combine apples, cranberries, sugar, flour, butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  4. Pour filling into the pie crust.
  5. Cover with the second pie crust. Crimp edges to seal.
  6. Cut slits in the top crust to vent steam.
  7. Brush with egg wash (egg and milk mixture).
  8. Sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  9. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
