- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 ounce instant yeast
- 1 cup milk, warm
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- For the filling: 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over the dough.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the butter.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Cut the log into slices and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Ensure milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- Let the bread cool completely before slicing to prevent it from crumbling.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
