This cream cheese frosting recipe is easy to make and perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and cinnamon rolls.

- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 3–4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk or cream (optional, for desired consistency)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- If the frosting is too thick, add milk or cream, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
- Beat until light and fluffy.
- Use immediately or store in the refrigerator for later use.
Notes
- Make sure your cream cheese and butter are fully softened for a smooth frosting.
- Adjust the amount of powdered sugar to your desired sweetness and consistency.
- For a tangier frosting, add a squeeze of lemon juice.
