- 1 pound phyllo dough
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Butter a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Unroll phyllo dough and cover with a damp towel to prevent drying.
- Take one sheet of phyllo, crinkle it like an accordion, and place it in the baking dish. Repeat with remaining phyllo.
- Pour melted butter evenly over the crinkled phyllo.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, baking powder, and salt.
- Pour custard mixture evenly over the phyllo.
- Sprinkle with chopped walnuts, if desired.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and custard is set.
- Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes
- Keep phyllo dough covered to prevent it from drying out.
- Adjust baking time depending on your oven.
- For a richer flavor, use brown butter.
- Serve with a dusting of powdered sugar or a drizzle of honey.
