Description

Create a spooky and impressive spiderweb cake for Halloween with this easy recipe.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • Eggs, oil, and water as called for by cake mix
  • 1 container vanilla frosting
  • Black food coloring
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Plastic spider decorations

Instructions

  1. Prepare cake batter according to box instructions.
  2. Bake cake in a round cake pan.
  3. Let cake cool completely.
  4. Frost the cake with vanilla frosting.
  5. Tint a small amount of frosting black with food coloring.
  6. Place black frosting in a piping bag or ziplock bag with a small hole.
  7. Pipe concentric circles of black frosting on top of the cake.
  8. Drag a toothpick from the center of the cake outwards to create a spiderweb effect.
  9. Drizzle chocolate syrup around the edges.
  10. Place plastic spiders on top of the cake.

Notes
