- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- Eggs, oil, and water as called for by cake mix
- 1 container vanilla frosting
- Black food coloring
- Chocolate syrup
- Plastic spider decorations
Instructions
- Prepare cake batter according to box instructions.
- Bake cake in a round cake pan.
- Let cake cool completely.
- Frost the cake with vanilla frosting.
- Tint a small amount of frosting black with food coloring.
- Place black frosting in a piping bag or ziplock bag with a small hole.
- Pipe concentric circles of black frosting on top of the cake.
- Drag a toothpick from the center of the cake outwards to create a spiderweb effect.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup around the edges.
- Place plastic spiders on top of the cake.
