Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, salt, and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
  4. Add the melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
  6. Divide the dough into 6-8 equal portions.
  7. Shape each portion into a roll and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Cover the rolls and let them rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let the rolls cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use a gluten-free flour blend that contains a mix of starches and flours.
  • If you don’t have xanthan gum, you can omit it, but the texture of the rolls may be slightly different.
