Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Let it stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add the melted butter and egg to the yeast mixture.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into 6-8 equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a roll and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise in a warm place for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let the rolls cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use a gluten-free flour blend that contains a mix of starches and flours.
- If you don’t have xanthan gum, you can omit it, but the texture of the rolls may be slightly different.
- You can brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter before baking for a richer flavor.
- Store leftover rolls in an airtight container at room temperature.
