Description

Make heart-shaped macarons for a special treat. These delicate cookies feature almond flour and a buttercream filling.


Ingredients

  • 100g almond flour
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg whites
  • Pink food coloring
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar.
  2. Whisk egg whites until foamy. Gradually add granulated sugar and whisk until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold dry ingredients into egg whites. Add pink food coloring.
  4. Pipe heart shapes onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Let macarons rest for 30-60 minutes.
  6. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  7. Make buttercream: Beat butter until light and fluffy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract.
  8. Fill macarons with buttercream.

Notes

  • Let macarons cool completely before filling.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • For best results, age egg whites for 24 hours.
