Description

A festive homemade jam perfect for the Christmas season, bursting with mixed berries and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, cranberries)
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and hull the berries.
  2. Combine berries, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt in a large pot.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the jam thickens.
  5. Test for doneness by placing a spoonful of jam on a chilled plate. If it sets up quickly, it’s ready.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Ladle the jam into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  8. Process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.

Notes

  • Sterilize your jars and lids before filling.
  • Adjust the spices to your preference.
  • Store in a cool, dark place for up to 1 year.
