Delicious Mince Pie Crumble Bars, perfect for the holidays! Enjoy a buttery crumble with a rich mincemeat filling.

- 75 g raisins
- 75 g currants
- 75 g sultanas
- 75 g dried cranberries
- 50 g mixed peel
- 150 g cooking apple finely chopped
- 75 g unsalted butter
- 125 g light brown soft sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp mixed spice
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 150 ml brandy or apple juice for alcohol free
- 175 g rolled oats
- 200 g plain flour plus extra for dusting
- 150 g light brown soft sugar
- 175 g unsalted butter cold and cubed
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- Mincemeat: Add raisins, currants, sultanas, cranberries, mixed peel, apple, butter, sugar, cinnamon, spice, and lemon zest to a pan.
- Heat on low until butter melts and mixture combines.
- Increase heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool.
- Stir in brandy or apple juice.
- Crumble: Preheat oven to 200°C / 180°C fan. Line a 9×9 inch tin.
- In a bowl, mix oats, flour, sugar, baking powder, and butter until it resembles breadcrumbs.
- Press 500g crumble into the tin.
- Spread mincemeat over the base.
- Sprinkle remaining crumble on top.
- Bake for 30+ minutes until golden.
- Cool completely before portioning.
Notes
- Mincemeat lasts up to six months in sealed jars.
- Use 600-800g shop-bought mincemeat.
- Use apple juice for alcohol-free version.
- Use a 9 inch square tin.
