Description

Individual servings of classic Tres Leches cake in convenient cups.


Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon, for dusting
  • Fresh berries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare cake batter according to box instructions using water, oil, and eggs.
  2. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9×13 inch baking pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  3. Let cake cool completely in the pan. Use a fork to poke holes all over the cake.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
  5. Slowly pour the milk mixture evenly over the cooled cake, allowing it to soak in.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
  7. Cut cake into squares and transfer to individual serving cups.
  8. Dust with ground cinnamon and garnish with fresh berries, if desired.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use whole milk instead of evaporated milk.
  • Adjust the amount of milk mixture according to your preference.
  • You can add a splash of rum or brandy to the milk mixture for an extra layer of flavor.
