- 3 ripe pears, peeled and halved
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Arrange pear halves on top, cut-side up.
- Pour the remaining batter over the pears.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm pears for best results.
- You can add chopped nuts to the batter for extra texture.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
