Description

Delicious pecan pie bars are a sweet and nutty treat. These bars are perfect for holidays or any special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 46 tablespoons ice water
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make the crust: In a bowl, combine flour, butter, sugar, and salt. Cut butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough comes together.
  4. Press dough into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  5. Bake crust for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  6. Make the filling: In a bowl, combine pecans, corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and salt.
  7. Pour filling over pre-baked crust.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until filling is set.
  9. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use browned butter in the filling.
  • Store pecan pie bars in an airtight container at room temperature.
  • You can add a pinch of cinnamon to the filling for extra warmth.
