Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust, pre-baked
  • 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine drained pineapple, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. Stir in water and cook over medium heat until mixture thickens and bubbles.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour filling into pre-baked pie crust.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until filling is set.
  7. Let cool completely before serving.
