- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Chocolate frosting
- Mini pretzels
- Red M&Ms or candies
- Candy eyes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface and cut out reindeer shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool completely.
- Frost cookies with chocolate frosting.
- Add mini pretzels for antlers, a red M&M for the nose, and candy eyes.
- Let frosting set before serving.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for easier handling.
- Use different colored frosting for variety.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
