Description

Make festive Reindeer Cookies for the holidays. These treats are fun to decorate and perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Mini pretzels
  • Red M&Ms or candies
  • Candy eyes

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface and cut out reindeer shapes.
  7. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  8. Let cool completely.
  9. Frost cookies with chocolate frosting.
  10. Add mini pretzels for antlers, a red M&M for the nose, and candy eyes.
  11. Let frosting set before serving.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes before rolling for easier handling.
  • Use different colored frosting for variety.
