Ingredients

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chopped walnuts.
- Shape the dough into a log or flatten it and use cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, toast the walnuts before chopping.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
