These Black Magic Chocolate Chip Cookies are perfect for Halloween. They are dark, delicious, and spooky.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Black food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips. Add black food coloring if desired.
- Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until edges are set.
- Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a darker cookie, use black cocoa powder.
- Add Halloween sprinkles for extra flair.
- Store in an airtight container.
