Enjoy this unique twist on classic cranberry sauce by coating cranberries in rich chocolate.

- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
Instructions
- Combine cranberries, sugar, and water in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until cranberries have burst.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Dip cooled cranberries in melted chocolate, coating completely.
- Place chocolate-covered cranberries on parchment paper and let cool until chocolate is set.
