Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the Glaze: 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/4 cup milk, 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For the glaze: In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, milk, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Gradually whisk in powdered sugar until smooth.
  10. Dip each donut into the glaze and place back on the wire rack to allow the glaze to set.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh spices.
  • Do not overmix the batter.
  • Store donuts in an airtight container at room temperature.
