- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Heat treat the flour: Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes. Let it cool completely.
- Cream butter and sugars: In a bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add wet ingredients: Mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
- Combine dry and wet: Gradually add the heat-treated flour and salt to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips: Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Chill and serve: Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Ensure flour cools completely after heat treatment.
- Store leftover dough in the refrigerator.
- Use pasteurized eggs if you prefer not to heat-treat the flour.
