Description
Easy no-bake Peppermint Oreo Truffles are a festive holiday treat. You can make these truffles with just a few ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (14.3 ounces) Oreo cookies
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candies
Instructions
- Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a resealable bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.
- In a large bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs, softened cream cheese, and peppermint extract. Mix until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the truffles to firm up.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler.
- Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Place the dipped truffles back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the chocolate-covered truffles.
- Refrigerate the truffles for another 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
- Serve and enjoy your Peppermint Oreo Truffles!
Notes
- For a smoother chocolate coating, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil or shortening to the melted chocolate.
- Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- You can use white chocolate or dark chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
- Add a pinch of salt to the Oreo mixture to balance the sweetness.
